Personalised lanyards and badge holders for your event

A personalised lanyard is a practical way to display an ID badge while keeping your organisation’s name or logo visible. At conferences, exhibitions and festivals, a clearly designed badge and lanyard can help staff recognise visitors, exhibitors and speakers. In the workplace, the same combination keeps an access card within reach.

Choose your lanyard according to the way it will be worn, the design you want to reproduce and your order deadline. A simple logo, a detailed full-colour illustration and a woven message each suit different production methods. The options available depend on the product selected.

How to choose a personalised lanyard

Start with the material and printing method, then compare widths, clips and additional fittings. Our guide explains how to choose a personalised lanyard in more detail.

Full-colour printed lanyards

Full-colour printing is well suited to logos with several colours, repeating patterns and detailed event artwork. Sublimation printing is available on selected polyester models and can create a design across the strap. Check the printable area and whether printing on one or both sides is included in your chosen product.

Screen-printed nylon and tubular lanyards

Screen printing is a useful option for bold text and straightforward logos. Nylon offers a smooth finish, while tubular lanyards provide a different feel and profile. Compare the number of print colours and available strap colours on each product page. Fine details and gradients may be better suited to full-colour printing.

Woven lanyards

On woven models, the design is formed with coloured threads rather than printed onto the surface. This gives the text or logo a distinctive textile finish. Simple lettering and clear shapes are generally easier to reproduce than very small details. Review the design requirements for the model before sending your artwork.

Recycled and alternative materials

The collection includes RPET lanyards made from recycled polyester, alongside options such as bamboo and cork. Check each product’s composition rather than assuming that every component has the same environmental characteristics. Recycled content, biodegradability and recyclability are different properties and depend on the material and relevant disposal conditions.

Widths, clips and practical details

Widths of 10 mm, 15 mm, 20 mm and 25 mm are available across the range, depending on the model. A narrower strap suits a compact design, while a wider strap provides more space for a logo or message. Consider the size and weight of the badge being carried, and check the stated strap length rather than assuming it is adjustable.

Attachment options include carabiner hooks, premium carabiners and alligator clips on selected models. Match the fitting to the slot or attachment point on your badge holder. The available options are shown on each product page.

Safety breakaway or detachable buckle?

These fittings serve different purposes. A safety breakaway, usually positioned behind the neck, is designed to release under tension. A detachable buckle near the end of the strap lets the wearer remove an attached badge or item without taking the lanyard off. A detachable buckle is not a substitute for a safety breakaway.

Choose a model appropriate to the setting and the wearer, and follow your organisation’s safety requirements. For more practical examples, see our guide: how do you use an event lanyard.

Prepare your logo and artwork

Use a clear logo, keep lettering legible and choose a strong contrast between the design and background. You can include your organisation’s name, a short message or an event date. If a QR code is part of the design, discuss its size and print requirements before ordering.

A vector file is preferable for logos; where an image file is used, follow the resolution and file-format requirements shown in the configurator. Include a Pantone reference in your comments if colour matching is important. Our guide to how to personalise your lanyard explains the main design choices.

Check spelling, dates, quantities and options before submitting your order. Where you request a digital proof, allow time to review and approve it before production starts.

Choose a compatible badge holder

Badge holders are ordered separately unless the product explicitly states that one is included. Select a portrait or landscape format to match your printed insert, then check the usable internal dimensions. The outside dimensions of a holder can differ from the size of the insert it accepts.

Credit-card-size holders suit compact ID cards, while larger formats can display a name, organisation, role or event programme more clearly. A6 inserts measure 105 × 148 mm; check the individual holder’s specifications for compatibility. Also consider how the holder attaches and whether your application calls for a rigid or flexible model.

Express lanyards and event deadlines

Express models offer shorter lead times for suitable orders, but availability depends on the product, quantity and artwork. Check the product page and contact our team before placing an order for a fixed deadline. Production time and carrier transit time are separate stages, and approval of a digital proof can affect when production begins.

Bulk pricing and quotations

Prices are displayed in pounds sterling (£). The unit price depends on your chosen material, width, printing method, fittings and quantity. Use the current volume discount table for the relevant product and review the VAT information alongside the price. Avoid comparing different configurations solely by their lowest advertised unit price.

You can turn your basket into a quotation for a larger project. Include the products and quantities you need so that your team can compare the total cost of lanyards and badge holders together.
